Lobby day 2009
We had a great time at the Capitol educating our legislators about midwifery! Thanks to all who came to the state house, and who participated in letter writing during this legislative session. We made some important progress on our bill, and although it did not go through this session, we're hopeful about our prospects next year.
Conscious Birth Summit 2009
Thanks to Kristin Bergman and all the sponsors of the Conscious Birth Summit! We had a lively panel discussion, and screenings of two great films: The Business of Being Born and Orgasmic Birth.
Red Envelope Parties
Thanks to all who hosted and attended Red Envelope Parties all across the state! Together, we sent more than 200 letters to our state legislators.
Our statewide potluck picnic and silent auction was a huge success!

Iowa welcomes Ida Darragh
Ida Darragh is a Certified Professional Midwife and director of testing for the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). She is a nationally recognized expert on CPM certification and licensure, and a part of the Big Push for Midwives. She has assisted many states in advocating for CPM licensure.
